Read and watch the review on this drama below:

Protect the boss- 2011's one of the biggest hit dramas which ratings kept on increasing. For a person like me who does not knows Korean much and still watching the drama with English subs including the script made me actually roll on the floor while watching it. So far, it is the throughout most hilarious Korean drama I have seen so far. Whoever watched it, "it stuck in the amygdaloid nucleus of their brains" just like mine.
It features romantic comedies and funny fights between the characters. Every character was well executed with each other. In the entire drama, the director focused on body/physical gags which made the show more hilarious. The only con I found in the drama was Cliche'd plot but the acting by the actors made interesting enough to watch it. While watching the drama I was always more concerned about the developing of lead characters chemistry more. After the first episode the story gets better and better. Honestly speaking, I started watching this drama due to Kim Jaejoong (who once couldn't act good) but after episode 2 the drama's story was so wonderful that I just fell in love with the drama.
Many people said that this drama has some similar story line like Secret Garden and The Best of Love i.e. a rich man meeting a poor woman, the woman wins his heart though is is lacking in status and most probably "sense of fashion" too. But as I mentioned above that direction and acting of this drama won hearts of every viewer. Every time the conflicts which appeared in the drama also made the drama more exciting. I would say that every second episode had a new story beginning which was astounding.
This drama starts with showing the conflict between two cousins i.e. Cha Moo Woon (Kim Jae Joong) and Cha Ji Heon(Ji Sung). it also shows how tough girl the lead No Eun Seol (Choi Kang Hee) is.
No Eun Seol and Cha Ji Heon meet under confusing circumstances which also includes a fight scene due to which Ji Heon afterwards want to find her to take revenge as he got beaten up. When his father Chairman Cha(Park Young Kyu) of DN Groups takes revenge  from those goons who have beaten his son, the information is leaked by Ji Heon's secretary mistakenly to the journalist due to which Chairman Cha's company including the father-son suffer controversies. But, he fakes his illness and gets rid of the controversial situation.
Meanwhile the poor girl No Eun Seol with not having good academical background is appointed by Cha Moo Woon for Cha Ji Heon's new secretary. Well, in the drama Moo Woon's character really cares for Ji Heon, his cousin. When Ji Heon finds out her to be the same "poop-head" who was the reason of the recent controversy then, interesting situations start occurring. Moo Woon starts liking No Eun Sol's character while Ji Heon starts getting attracted towards his secretary.
Moo Woon is a character who lives according to the expectation of his mother as Ji Heon is an opposite regarding  this matter. Seo Na Yoon( Wang Ji Hye), ex-girlfriend of Ji Heon appears in the drama after completing her foreign studies in America. Later on, Na Yoon rejects Moo Woon because she still feels for Ji Heon but he gets more involved in No Eun Seol and so does Moo Woon after getting rejected by Na Yoon.
The wicked mothers of Na Yoon and Moo Woon  keep planning new agendas to effect DN Group and Chairman Cha's C.E.O's seat. No Eun Seol helps Ji Heon overcomes his sickness of being afraid of crowd and people about which only his secretaries are aware of and even his father is unaware of that fact. Ji Heon feels protective when No Eun Seol is around and she really protects him from his father's beating and scolding to journalists as well.
When Chairman Cha knows about the reality of his son's secretary who was the cause behind the recent controversy and also that she and his son like each other he plans to transfer her. Meanwhile, Cha Moo Woon keeps on falling for No Eun Seol more. The fighting scenes between the 'cousins' and their parents are really fun to watch as those scenes are one of the funniest parts of the drama.
As the episodes move forward from episode 5, the wicked mothers(Na Yoon's and Moo Woon's) always keep on planning something against No Eun Seol and Chairman Cha to target them. Na Yoon, who is at her mother's side first afterwards goes against her mother's unprincipled intentions because to certain extent she wants Moo Woon to care for her again. Afterwards, she even becomes friends with No Eun Seol after living at her apartment with her friend. Gradually, Moo Woon and Na Yoon also fall in love again with each other but Moo Woon doesn't expresses his feelings for her while she is always expressing it.
In the last episodes,, one big controversy takes place against DN Groups Chairman/Director Cha which includes Eun Seol as well. The last episodes increased the tension among the viewers because everybody was worried about the survival of the two couples as the 'cousins' relationship gets better by the passage of time.
As, I am not willing to tell everything about the drama but there are so many things for which you have to watch the drama so, I will conclude the ending. The end of the drama was really fantastic and did not disappointed any viewer.
It was a drama which was not focused on conflict and resolution like other dramas. Jaejoong has developed his acting skills much better than before in the past. In the starting, though he looked weird but as the story keeps on going he personifies the "hot guy" look. Protect the boss's leading side characters Moo Woon and Na Yoon's chemistry has catched much more viewers attention as compared to the leads. As a viewer, I also wanted to see more from this couple.

This drama has every substance which makes a comedy drama successful. I will recommend this drama to everyone to watch it because this drama will not disappoint you. It's worth watching!

My Rating: I will give it 9.5 out of 10, on the whole.
I hope you enjoyed my post!
